The Antrim Coast

It is said that the road (the A2) from Belfast that stretches all the way to Portrush is one of the most scenic roads in the world and has even been compared to Route 66 in the US.

First stop along this road is the historic town of Carrickfergus, which is said to be the landing place of King William III in 1690. The most formidable sight when you arrive in Carrickfergus is the castle. Built in 1177 the castle has stood the test of time and has been fully restored to its full glory.
